Police Incident At LanCo. Giant Catches Wanted Teen Who Stole Grandma's Loaded Gun: Authorities

A runaway juvenile offender who stole his grandmother's loaded handgun has been captured, authorities say.

Ryan Clore Jr., 15, broke into his grandmother's home on Broad Street in East Petersburg Borough, crack her safe, and took her loaded Ruger LCP .380 handgun on March 3, around 5:15 p.m., according to a release by the Northern Lancaster County Regional Police Department on Monday, March 6, 2023. 

Clore is a repeat offender who has not only committed a previous offense but also failed to comply with previous sentencing requirements, according to the NLCRPD. 

He was also listed as a reported runaway according to the release. 

He was captured after causing a "police incident" at Giant Foods Store located at 550 Centerville Road in East Hempfield Township, according to a release by the area police.  

Employees and staff were made safe in case he still had the gun and then the police went in, and found Clore hiding in the bathroom, the police say. 

He was arrested without further incident but the gun was not on him and it has not been located, police from both agencies explained in separate releases. 

The Lancaster County Juvenile Probation Department has been contacted.
